Hello Everyone
I am getting ready to re-barrel my 280 Ackley Improved. I have never cut a chamber or an Ackley, but if I recall, you head space it shorter than the gauges indicate. I believe, if you cut the chamber, measuring it, like a 280 Remington, it ends up a little long for factory 280 cartridges.
Will someone be kind enough to take me through the head spacing process for an Ackley chamber, using standard head space gauges?
Thank you for your help and suggestions.
