Big 5 is selling the bulk packs of 525 rounds of Remington hollow point .22LR for $9.99 right now. Their regular price is $19.99.

Not as good as a local shop did a couple years ago for $7.99 but still a very good price.

Clean and accurate and hollow point.

Well, thanks for the heads up, it was kind gesture, but Wal-mart does sell their .22LR for about that, minus shipping... and that's when it's not on sale.

Might be true.

I refuse to shop Wal Mart (maybe my loss)

And I absolutely refuse to try Federal again.

Are they the hollow point?

Topgun,

Yep, hp's they were.
The last bulk ammo purchase I made at Wal-mart was 500 rounds of Winchester X-pert 36gr high velocity hollow points (xpert22) for $9 and change.

I found these to be relatively clean burning and accurate.

I personally do not like the business practices.

But on the plus side.

It is my opinion that their development has been predatory and has closed many local retailers.

It is also my opinion that the US government's recent 30 year history of allowing jobs to leave the US has resulted in Americans NEEDING to find the lowest prices in order to survive the closings of plants here in the US and major corporations opening in other countries and neglecting the welfare of Americans.

Here's a chart of our dollar. We are approaching a very
serious problem.

Foreign investors are finally figuring out that the dollar will
soon not be worth holding.

And THAT, friends, will hit us all VERY hard.

As to Federal ammo, I and many others have had problems with
misfires. A search of TFL will bring a bunch of it up.

But, everyone is free to do as they please. I choose not to
support WalMart and thankfully do not need to.

Hey, we are generally proud of our capitalist ideology and the retailer most hard hit has been K-Mart. Between K-Mart, Target and Walmart, Walmart gets every penny of my money. I also like Meijer ain't too bad either but I still prefer Walmart.

As for the ammo, Federal gets most, if not all, of my money for 22 lr stuff - The $.88/box Lightnings work great for me. I still have a supply of CCI's Small Game Bullet for hunting little critters and Winchester Supreme wins for 22 WMR.

If you're talking about the bulk Federal stuff, I wholeheartedly agree. I have a pair of .22lr handguns and have had many issues with it. The Remington bulk ammo was a complete 180, totally reliable.

I recently bought some Federal Gold Match and that has functioned flawlessly so far. Can't tell if it's more accurate though. It probably is but I'm a lousy shot. :D

After reading that crap about Wal-Mart I can clearly see why this country is in a rapid decline. It's like all for me and none for you attitude. You know what they say,
"To get to the top, You have to step on some heads"..
I can appreciate the concept of pay less get more but the hypocrisy is rampant within that organization.
On the wall inside walmart it says Buy American, yet 85% of the goods they puchase are from overseas. sickening. I think I'll buy from someone I know and pay a few more dollars, because I can !!!

your rite on about wal mart and sams club .I suffer bad ever time we shop there. we buy the fed .22 hp 100$ at a time. that and one other item is all we buy there. like I said guilty me, also finked out & got a bunch of cheap dvds ,& vcr tapes have not been since Dec 17. THANKS
