Looks like a person can get a good buy right now. I am seeing a $50 rebate on the TC Compass, and one vendor online has the 6.5 at $250. I think before rebate. Sans taxes, ship transfer of course, but a pretty decent deal. And I can vouch that at least my Compass was very accurate. (243)
I think all together that would be about $270 for a brand new Compass 6.5

I like mine. Exceptional for the price. Was considering a few upgrades to it to make it a better rifle than it already is.

I am certain that there are better made, cheaper, and more accurate firearms. But a few years ago I won a Venture in 300 Win Mag. It came with a cheap 3X9 Bushnell scope. It was on the paper at 100 yards out of the box, and shot under 1" with Remington Green Box in a weight I don't remember, off a sandbag once I zeroed the scope. And with less recoil than a Remington 700 in .308. I ended up trading it, but would not hesitate to pay full price for a TC rifle. There might be a better rifle for the $ out there, but in my experience, the TC's are good rifles and a rebate only makes them a better value.

Venture rebate is $75 which bring some of the prices on GB down to $299 for the Venture. The Comact Compass II loks real good which would be down to $200 after rebates of $50. These are very nice rifles or the money.

I bought a TC Compass in .308 win with a diamondback 4-14x44 scope last year. After rebate, it was like $285 from Buds Guns. Shot around 1 inch out the box. After replacing the trigger spring with a model 70 target spring, polishing the trigger and sear and a boyds featherweight thumbhole stock, I shot a 7 round .4 inch ragged hole at 100 yards with Hornaday whitetail ammo. I think they are 150+ gr bonded soft points. By far the best group I have ever shot. Less than $500 invested

How much I paid for my house, how little I paid for my car and now how little I paid for my groups.

The TCs I've known have been very reliable shooters and function very well. My friend has a Venture .223 for which I do the reloads. At 300 yds on a calm day I've seen him shoot very small groups ; didn't measure them, but I'm thinking under 2". These are very accurate rifles and, wow, what a bargain.
