WOW one awesome bb rifle

When you hear Heathaways you probably think of the Plainsman 175 pistol. Heathaways made several pistol variants. But they also made two almost unknown rifles. The MX175 .177 used standard bbs and the MC22 .22 round ball, the MC22 used proprietary .22 lead ammo that was steal coated so the magnetic feed would work. The MC22 also had a rifled barrel. Other than this they were identical.
The gun today I shoot and examine is the MX 175 .177 bb
There is very little information about these rifles. I think the production started in 1969 to the mid 70's
The Plainsman MX175 fires as fast as the trigger can be pulled. It is actually a double action mechanism that fires and loads another bb almost simultaneous. Having a large valve body probably gives the gun its power. And care must have went into picking the barrel stock for these guns, they are accurate. Ammo is easily fed into firing position by pointing the barrel downward after five shots. A 8g or 12 gram co2 cartridge can be used. opening the cart chamber revels the bb loading tray and cart carriage. closing it charges the gun. I believe it holds fifty bbs. The safety is located by the cart receiver. having a fixed front blade and adjustable rear sight. and a smoothbore barrel.
This rifle is a fine example of great forward thinking and engineering. It is the best co2 smoothbore or any bb rifle I have ever shot - and I have shot many.Todays bb gun makers should take note and give us products like this today.
They are a unbelievably accurate and powerful bb gun. My mind was blown by this.
This would be a great bb gun for rodents around the house and barn.
