Today I I shoot it at 30 feet at paper for this episode of backporch plinking. ,

I suppose it has been done, but I found a bucket of toy army guys, cowboys and Indians, and dinosaurs...all about , what...two inches tall? Typical plastic toy guys.
It might be fun to plink them off from ten or twelve yards.

Absolutely. My buddies and I took out many little green guys back in the sixties with our bb guns. Quite a few sparrows too.

I lusted after that very gun in the Sears catalog back then and actually found it under the tree on Christmas 1971.

I put a cheap scope on it. It looked really cool and was a blast to shoot.
With the smooth bore and the ability to only shoot BBs, it was still somewhat accurate, bun not at all consistent. No clover leaf groups, but most shots ended up roughly where I intended them.

I shot the crap out of that gun but it eventually developed an unrepairable leak and had to be retired.
I wish I still had it. With the tooling I have now and my somewhat limited machining skills, I might have been able to revive it.
