Why not a lorcin.25 or any “Saturday night special”. Depending on age one could wow them with stories from the olden day’s. Could make a display w a few. And my kids are getting what ever I have laying around. Nothing fancy just who it belonged to. And if what I have laying at is worth something financially then I wouldn’t fault them for selling it. I want need them anymore.

A Kimber and a couple sigs:

An old H&R breaktop (circa 1906)

A couple Rugers (not heirlooms per se) and a I.N.A. Tiger in 32 S&W Long

and yes, I also have an original LCP and the wife has an LCP2

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I like all of these and they are all "pocketable"

I think that, to most of us, the phrase "heirloom-quality" frequently also means "old enough to have already been an heirloom."

Current production? One day maybe, a Glock 42 or Ruger LCP Gen 2 might be considered as "cultural" as the all-steel guns of yesteryear seem to be to us today. But now? Beyond the already-mentioned pistols from Seecamp, NAA, PSA, and the like, nothing is coming to my mind. Is the Micro Eagle 380 still in production?
LCPs aren’t anywhere near the quality of these other guns, and are even kinda junky polymer guns.. utilitarian? Sure.

bonds arms-p.jpg I think that the nicer Bond Arms derringers, all polished stainless steel, are heirloom quality. I have the unpolished cheaper version (Roughneck, about $300), and it's flawless in operation and built like a tank. It's just not as polished as the $500+ ones. Not only are the BA's the nicest derringers on the market in current production, I think they will last as long as many classic all steel guns.

An heirloom is what you make of it.

One day my girls will probably find this still in that wood box in my safe. Probably with a couple of speed strips and another loader. From their grandfather to me to them. I think that makes it an heirloom. It's a Charter Arms Bulldog Pug in 44spc with a bobbed hammer for easier pocket draw. The original factory box, paperwork, receipts, and original hammer will be underneath.

Current production, the KAHR metal frame guns come to mind, but I’m a bit of a fan of them so I’m probably biased. The Seecamp is obvious

Also a P7, that’d make a fine heirloom gun.

off topic:
I saw an article a couple months ago that said the Suzuki Samurai was one of the most desirable, collectible cars today. Apparently their value is on the rise, for some strange reason.
