Pocket Pistol Question. NAA Guardian or Kahr?

Gun show just started today. I'm thinkin of getting myself a pocket pistol for carry. (i currently own an S&W Model 627 8-shot .357 Magnum - Huge Gun but obviously i can't bring it outdoors - sadly im small built and not that tall )

I'm just wondering why Kahr is more popular to pocket pistol fans over NAA? I made some research & found that NAA Guardian is a much smaller and lighter pistol over Kahr overall and NAA is quite reliable in terms of quality.

I have both. Love them both. The NAA is really a 'pocket pistol' while the Kahr, while small, is quite a 'pocket full' of pistol.

The Kahr has a little more horsepower though. Tough choice.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Seems you are asking about apples & oranges.

The NAA is a .32 ACP or .380 ACP blow-back action that weighs about 19 ounces.

The Kahr is a locked-breach 9mm pistol that weighs as much as 5 ounces less then the NAA in certain models.

Kahr's new .380 ACP is also a locked-breach gun that weighs about half what the NAA weighs.

If you want 9mm power, you will only pay for it in size, not weight, by going with the Kahr.

If you want a .380 ACP, either wait for the new Kahr to hit your islands, or try for a Kel-Tec P3AT or Ruger LPC.

They are both smaller & much lighter then the NAA, because they both are locked-breach designs as well.

Blow-back guns are always going to be heavy for caliber, no matter who makes it.

As mentioned above - very different pistols. I have NAA Guardian G380 and Kahr MK40 Elite. Although Kahr is a small gun, I would not carry it in the pocket. Its a bit larger than Guardian. In the pocket gun world, Guardian is a very close relative to Seecamp and Augaga clone as, where Kahr is closer ralated to Ruger LCP, and Kel-Tec models.

Kahr PM9 is a great pocket pistol. I picked one up here a little while back and it has been great.

I have a Guardian .380 and an LCP. The blow back Guardian is smaller length and width wise but is considerably thicker and WAY HEAVIER.

Both are pretty good guns, but the NAA has a real problem with trigger slap. My finger can only handle about 3 mags through the Guardian before it gives up. Since I bought the Ruger the Guardian has become just a neat little safe queen.

I have a PM 9, a Seecamp .380 and a S&W M&P 340. The 340 gets carried the most, then the Seecamp then the Kahr.

Thanks rcmodel for the info. il check out the .380 Kahr. Have anyone seen the barrel of a Kel-tec? seems like a curtain rod to me. don't think it can handle too much usage. just my 2cents worth.

Neither the Kel-Tec P3AT, Ruger LPC which has the same size barrel as a Kel-Tec, or in all likelihood, the new Kahr .380's are designed to be 1,000 round a month range guns.

They are all designed to be the lightest, smallest, most powerful guns for their size ever made.

As far as curtain rods for barrels, my P3AT is three years old and going strong. Some shooters report several thousand rounds through theirs with no problems.

All KT's have a Lifetime Warrenty, so wearing one out simply can't happen. If you manage to do it, KT will fix it or replace it free.

However, if you want a range-toy gun to shoot constantly, get something else designed for that use.

But if you want a 7-shot .380 so small, light, & thin you often forget you have it on you, the P3AT is it.

Ditto on the KelTec (P32 or P3AT). They are great pistols and lighter and thinner than the NA or Kahr.

It's nice to be proven wrong once in a while. hehe Don't want no pocket-toy-pistols either. il try to ask if there will be a Kahr in .380 available tomorrow at the gunshow.

buy the kahr pm9. It is pocketable, carry mine 24/7 in my jeans front pocket in a desantis. no doubt not as smallas the kt or lcp but not a 1911 either, big difference in firepower IMO. also a gun you can shoot till the cows come home

the kahr 380 will not be out until late September. I was just told that last week kby the Kahr manager of customer service. compared to the lcp and kt barrels the kahr barrel is absolutely super looking, certainly doesnt look like a curtain rod Its made by lothar and is poygonal rifled. Pretty good stuff...IMO>

I believe the NAA 380 slides and frame were made by Kahr until recently. The two companies had a spat because supposedly Kahr couldn't keep up with NAA's orders. But that is just internet rumor. Now I believe NAA is making them in house on their own CNC machines.. somebody correct me if this is wrong.

Anyways, both are great guns, I prefer the Kahr's though because I just do not trust .380. And it's nice to have a pocket gun that uses the same rounds as many of my other full sized guns.
