I'm sure many of you know about the latest Blackhawk crash in Afghanistan which killed 3 Navy SEALs, a NSW member, and 6 Army soldiers.

Tonight I found out that one of the Navy SEALs killed was someone that I knew.

His name was Brendan Looney. For confidential/secrecy reasons I'm not going to tell you how I knew Brendan. Our friendship was short due to the limited amount of time that I knew him, but he was a Gentleman in the truest form.

Brendan was two weeks away from finishing his deployment and coming home.

Please pray for his soul and his family's comfort.

Also knew him, same class. Like you, I knew him briefly, but the impression was lasting. He was one of the good ones.

That's truly a terrible loss, and it sounds like he was one of the good ones.

For those so inclined, a prayer or two couldn't hurt.

That said, and I really do hate to play the part of the jerk rule-enforcing moderator here, but this isn't really on-topic for THR.
