Been lurking a while and figured I'd introduce myself.
I'm first and foremost a father of three great kids. I've been married to the worlds best woman for 21 years. I'm the grandson of, the youngest son of, and I am a veteran myself. The only hunting I do is killing rats in the barns and chicken houses on the farm where we raise (small time) cattle in north Alabama. For that purpose I employ a 6" Ruger Single Six .22.
I kill many, many rats with this weapon.
My profession as a referigeration tech often places me in back alleys and on rooftops in the dead of night and on the hard livin' side of Birmingham/ Tuscaloosa. Because of this I carry a pre-Mod 10 S&W, 2",.38spl during the summer and a Springer Micro Compact .45 (flawless out of the box, BTW) during the winter. I've not had reason to fire either off of the range yet, but I've been mighty comforted by their companionship on several occasions.
I've learned a lot from the folks here and would like to say thanks for the great info.
Also I'd like to add that the attitude and courtesy of the folks here'bouts is refreshing and shiney.
Lookin' foreward to being a part of THR.
