i'd call the gas company.

if you have flood insurance this is probably covered if you have to pay for repairs.

No it isnt the right place. But we all need to help eachother out.

The most likely reason you cant relite the pilots are as follows:
Most modern gas apliances have a thermocouple. It is a cylinder connected to a wire. The cylinder is located directly in front of the pilot flame. This is a safety device that when it cools down (read pilot goes out) it cuts off the flow of gas. You should have 2 stainlesstubes and one copper wire coming out of gas regulator box. 1 larger tube for the actual burner (3/8"ish) 1 1/8"ish for pilot light. The wire goes to the thermocouple.

The gas knob on the regulator should have a position for "pilot" turn it to this. While pressing down on this for 5-10 seconds to clear the air out of the pilot lite tubing attempt to light pilot light. Once it is let do not let up on the gas knob you are pressing. Allow the thermocouple to get hot typicaly 1-3 minutes befor you let off on the knob.

Hope this helps as I have had the water heater blues. Dont know about the boiler but I would imagine it would be similar.

Best of luck

Might want to get the water out first . Make sure the controls are dry, then Mot gave a good layout of how to proceed.

WOW!! I Feel for you...

Best thing to do when gas is involved is get to the gas main that feeds the house and turn it off. If you smell gas after doing this evacuate the premisis and call the gas company or fire department. Then when conditions permit call the utility company responsible for gas and have them send someone out to your home to check it out.

If you have insurance contact them. But they are probably going to say that unless you have flood insurance, you are not covered. Insurance companies are great for taking the monthly premiums and then finding a crack to slither away under when the SHTF.
It's happened to me with auto as well as homeowner's. I've actually had my broker say they are happy to file the claim but once filed I can expect to see a spike in rates, possibly be dropped and not picked up by other companies because they tell each other this guy filed a claim! Besides, the deductables are so darn high you're better off paying for it out of your pocket and never file a claim at all.

I wish you the best in this situation. Protect your family and do not place them or yourself in danger. A home filled with gas is like a bomb that can go off if ignited.

Bummer, Dude

Sorry to hear about that, man.

I would review the advice in the above posts, call the gas people and your friendly neighborhood plumber.

Those of you who wish to directly engage on this, please take it to PM.

While on the one hand we do try support one another, this really isn't the place.

I'm closing this, but at the same time I'm wishing you the best.
