I've tried searching, but couldn't find anything concrete to what I need. Basically I want to buy a gun or two from JG sales. Have the money and know more than a few stores who handle transfers. But what do I do first? Do I buy the gun, then ask my FFL to send their info? Do I ask my FFL to buy it? I know this is a simple question to many, but I'm honestly in the dark.

The usual way is to contact your FFL and be sure they'll transfer from your seller, then buy the gun, send the money and sellers address, get fax# if they have one or address and discription for your FFL who will send or fax his FFL lisc., recieve the gun and notify you, then register the info in the BATF book.

+1. I would add that most sellers will accept an email FFL from your recipient dealer. I generally forward to my FFL any sales confirmation emails, and ask him to reply with his FFL to the seller. When I forward the confirmation, I also copy the seller & include all contact info for my FFL. That way I have a written chain of everyone being notified of the transfer, how all parties can reach each other, and where the gun is to go. It also gives all details of the purchased firearm to your FFL, in case the seller sends THE WRONG GUN. It happens. Happend to me this week---
