Merry Christmas y'all!

Hope you can help me.....

I'm looking to buy myself a Coronado Leather STEALTH PAC fanny pack carry system.

http://www.coronadoleather.com/view.aspx?i=96&c=3&p=0

My biggest concern is which holster system to get for this pouch. The three listed are:

-Snap
-Pull Thru
-or Deluxe (?)

I'm not sure of the pros and cons of each of these (or what the DELUXE is?) for this type of bag.

Any input would be greatly appreicated!

THANKS! :)

fanny packs are terribly out of style and nerdish and that leather one is particularly hideous. they make it completely obvious that you're carrying. there is probably another carry solution that would fit your needs better. can you tell me what you want the pack for?

if you must have some sort of pack rather than carry on your person, the maxpedition man purse thingy ( http://www.1sks.com/store/maxpedition-fatboy-versipack.html ) is less obvious, less ugly and can carry alot more useful stuff than just a gun.

Thanks ChopinBloc...that man purse thing looks ok...but it doesn't look like it has a built in holster?

If you are wearing a fanny pack, it is best to actually carry your wallet in it or many BG's will notice. I have had a Tommy's Gun Pack for over 10 years now. It does not have a holster, but has heavy sides in the gun compartment so I never felt the need. Here are the features I like about it:

1. Gun compartment has 2 zippers and a plastic backpack style belt clip that fastens over the zippered compartment. If the zippers on the two sides are zipped together under the top right corner (under the plastic clip) the gun can be accessed by unbuckling the clip and pulling apart to cause the zippers open. This is very fast. Also, the gun compartment is hidden.

2. Two outer compartments with zippers are the only observable compartments. The larger one, I use for wallet and car keys. The very outside compartment is smaller and is just right for spare mags.

3. Made of black ballistic nylon so it does not draw attention in Colorado, but in Florida it seemed out of place and drew some attention.

I only use mine while driving (easiest access and most comfortable option while driving) or when running a quick errand. I have carried a Glock 30 and a Para Ordnance 12.45 commander sized pistol in mine.

i'm not sure if it's an actual holster or if it's just a separate pocket designed for a handgun but many of their ads show the model drawing a pistol from the bag. i haven't had a chance to inspect this particular product but i've used some of their others stuff and it is very high quality and over built.

Galco makes a pretty good fanny pack type setup. Its called the Elite:

Nothing screams "GUN!" quite like a guy wearing a fannypack.

That's what I thought til I bought one of these Goblins. People are so used to seeing hydration packs now that it's not out of place to see one on a fannypack.

And, the holster is very secure and easy to get to. I'm happy with the thing for the times I am outdoor and active. And, having the water is a nice side benefit.

Now it's more like "look at the dork with the water hose" than "look at the dork with the gun"

I just put the pistol in a pocket holster and then place it in the main compartment of a standard commercial, with logo, fanny pack. No problem! See a lot of folks of my generation with them.

I just picked up a bagmaster fannypack, it is fairly small, but holds a FS 1911....black nylon, I ut my wallet in it too...I wear pull up shorts all year, and dont like to wear a belt or jeans at all, so this is the best solution for me...and I want it to scream gun...dont mess with me,lol...

+1
I picked up a really beat fanny pack at Goodwill and used my speedy stitcher to sew an Uncle Mike's neoprene holster inside the back panel (L-IWB for R-hand draw). Out of pocket ~$20.
I carry my daughter's diapers, wipes, etc. and have her sippy-cup in the water bottle pocket.

I like to think of it as urban daddy wear...

For a small gun fanny packs are fine.

But a full size gun, not the way to go.

How many times when someone asks what kind of holster they should use the respondents make a point of saying you need a good belt to complete your rig?
A strong, wide belt that will support all that weight.

But look at the belt on your typical fannny pack. One inch to two inch wide nylon weave. How is that a good support for a good size gun? Nothing like the weight of a 25+ ounce gun being supported by one inch of cheap nylon that happens to be strung across your kidneys.

I purchased a Mike's pack and it just plain sucked. The velcro was hard to get apart in a timely matter, the weight of the gun was not secured as there is nothing on the bottom to tie the weight down which means as I walked the bag would lift and then slam back into me. And since I had the pack centered over me twig & berries at the time it was a painful revelation. And yes I had it cinched up tight.

Other misfeatures included the god awful noise the thing made when it rubbed against my clothes. It was like a fat guy wearing courderoy. whiff whiff whiff whiff. The velcro was hard to work with. It took a lot of effort to get it open and even more to close it in a neat looking fashion.

So if you go the fanny pack route make sure the belt part will support the weight of the gun, the gun compartment is easy to acsess, and the pack is set up so that the gun does not slam into you when you walk.

I have been holding on to that for a long time, glad to let it go.
