Help Dating Remington Model 12, .22 Pump

I have a Remington Model 12 Serial # 7997XX That I can not find any dating info. on. Most websites say there should be a letter code on the barrel but mine has no such code. Anybody have any ideas on when it was made?

Never mind. It requires the three letter code.

It says the codes were on the left side of the barrel. IIRC, they were pretty small, and near the receiver.

After looking for the third time I finally found the letter code "BY", I believe this is Jan., 1930.
