Has anyone seen this version of the Colt logo? Obviously for the most part it looks right but what’s with the flower symbol on either side of the horse?
Variation of stocks used on 1892s and up IIRC. I have never seen definitive data on different variations of stocks used at Colt.
The fact the 99 out of 100 Colt letters fail to mention stock type doesn't help either.
I'm not an artist by any stretch, so my guess is that the flowers on either side 'fill out' the stock panel
and give symmetry (probably not the right description) to the image of the vertical rampant colt being depicted on a relatively large circular field.
