My cousins granfather is 98 now and has prostate cancer, he was telling us about some of his WW2 stories and how he brought home some rifles from the war, but now he didnt know where they were. We went searching for this rifles and couldnt find them anywhere. Finally we were in the addic of the house and I looked up, there were 6 rifles laying on the rafters, we took them down to take a look and 4 were WW2 bolt action rifles. I cant remember for the life of me what the make was all I remember was a symbol of a crown on them and the make right underneith it. Some one told me that the russian rifles ushaly had the crown on them, If anyone knows what company uses a crown as their emblem could you let me know!! I think it started with an A...

Along with these guns we found, German helmets, knives, bayonets, and some SS Collar tabs

Don't SMLE's have a crown on the band at the rear of the action near the model designation?

We need more information. They could be almost anything. Many countries used a crown stamp on their rifles.

I was doing some research and I found some info on German Rifles and I found a match, It said Amberg 1915 under the crown on top of the receiver it says this was the standard German Rifle since 1898, it was a Gewehr 98 Rifle

Is that a picture of the actual rifle you found or a reference picture you found on the web? If it's the actual rile, yep, that's a Gewehr 98 in very nice shape.

That was just a picture I found on the web that was the closest condition of the rifles we found. The other 2 we found were a Winchester Model 22 side by side 12 gauge, and an old Remington, didnt get a great look at the gun, next time im down there I will get pictures.

recheck that shotgun

Winchester Model 22 side by side 12 gauge

I'm not familiar with a Model 22 Winchester double gun. The model 21 and 24 are the ones I'm familiar with. If it's a 21, it's probably worth a pretty penny ($1,000 to $25,000 possibly). If it's a 24 in good shape, value is more like $300 to $600.

Winchester Model 22 was made for them by Laurona in Spain. Book value several hundred dollars. Model 23 was Japanese made.

Bergamino, we need actual pictures and very detailed descriptions.
"Looks like" can vary in value by hundreds or thousands of dollars.
