Does anyone know anything about this bullet? All I know is that it's a 150 grain 0.284" SP bullet. Would like to know who made this, and maybe find out its BC.

Thanks in advance!@

Looks like it could be a Remington Core-Lokt given that it has a cannelure and flat base.

Hornady has a similar bullet SP, flat base, with cannelure but it's 154g.

If it's a Core-Lokt, it's not like any other I've seen. If you look just above the cannelure, you'll see a ring. That ring isn't present on the Core-Lokts I've loaded up.

That ring looks to me like a seating die pushing on the ogive, but now that i look at it again it looks to far back for that to be the case.

Agreed.

I bought 1K of these well over a decade ago from Midway; one of their "blemished bullet" deals. Scoured the 'net for years trying to figure out who made these and have never been able to find anything.

Looks like a Hirtenberger or RWS. They used that funny extra lock ring forward of the cannelure. Odd that it's an even grain weight though. European bullets usually come out at odd numbers when you convert the grams to grains.

Profile is close enough to 150 Core Lokt to just use that BC for most shooting. I wouldn't worry about any sort of long range precision with a one-off unknown bullet.

I’ve got a bunch of 7mm bullets that look just like that. I can assure you mine came from Hornady. Indeed, they were seconds. Don’t recall whether they are 150 or 154. Might even be in the 130 gr. range instead of the 150s. My best guess is Hornady.
