All:
My loving wife found a Mosin stock for $2 and decided I just needed it.

My 91/30 drops straight in to the stock but no matter how I try I can not identify the wood.

Here is a horrible cell phone picture.
On the bottom it's a straight stock, but the hook where your thumb crosses over the top of the stock is what has me scratching my head.

Tried all the Mosin related sites for Mosin years and models. But no luck.

Also the sling attachment is a pivoting "D" not a Russian thru stock Dog collar. (if that helps)

2nd note is the barrel band on the new stock is 1" closer to the action than my 91/30
and the 91/30's length after the barrel band continues for another 17" (or so) this stock stops 2" after the band relief.

Thanks for any help

P.S. If any more bad cell phone pictures are needed - I'll get them.

Yup will do.
Also notice at about the 6 o-clock position there use to be a Dog collar which has been plugged.
What I have (I think) is a home grown wood project.

But in I'll get a pic up tomorrow.

Thanks.

Just from that one pic, I'd say you're right. I don't know of any MN stocks that look like that.

is it a full stock? think its an Winchester 1895 russian mockery
* by that i mean if it IS a mosin stock, its been shaped to resemble the M1895 rifle the russians had, its a winchester lever gun in 7.62X54r. I want one.
