Help identifying Logo on AR upper?

I have an upper receiver current for sale on GunBroker.com and I have been getting lots of question about manufacture and twist. Since this was a gift. I have no idea.

It was originally going to be a build by my brother who was going to try to get away with it during the AWB. This piece was about as far as he got into it, and he gave it to me when I bought my Bushmaster. He really had no idea what he was doing or buying, except that it was a "cool evil black rifle". He thought it was a Bushmaster, too, but this is probably because I said that's what mine was.

The only identifying marking on the entire upper is a stylized "A" that looks like the top half has been separated from the lower half of the "A". This made me thing that it might be an Armalite, but I really can't be sure, and my research showed up nothing.

If you know anything about it, it'd be sweet if you could help me out. The only pics I have are on the auction and I borrowed the camera that took those so I can't quickly or easily get one of the mark.

Can't see the mark in your pics. Anyhow, what you're looking at is most likely the forge mark. IIRC, teh scripted A, is the Anchor Harvey? forge.

Forge mark?

I'm familiar with the differences between forge and billet, but not the concept of a forge mark. Could you explain that, and the bit about the Anchor, more thoroughly. I feel like I'm on the verge of understanding what you're telling me.

Ok, so post my I-don't-get-it reply, I googled "Anchor Harvey" and lo-and-behold, I have found the mark. That's it. Thank you!

Anchor Harvey is just he company that forged the upper receiver, another company does the finish machining and anodizing.
