Help Identifying some old Guns

Hello,

New here. If this is the wrong place to post questions, please advise.

I am helping a friend sell a few guns left to her by her late husband.

The newer guns I believe can be readily identified and valued, however there are several that I have no idea of where to look or who to talk to for identification and value.

I can post a list, and would welcome any help on placeing values, or how to properly identify what is here.

Can pictures be posted to this site? If not I could email them, or perhaps I could link up online with a web cam and someone could advise what they needed to see for proper identification.

I am in no hurry to get this done, she does not need the money. I just want to help her get fair value.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is a forum below called "Firearms Research" that would be the place to put your questions. Pictures are going to be the most effective - easiest way to do that is to upload them from your computer to a photo hosting site like "photobucket.com" and then past the links into your post; the photos will appear automatically. Hope that helps.

Hey, Skip.

First of all, let me say that I think it's a fine thing you're doing for the widow, helping her keep from getting ripped off by shysters and steering her away from legal pitfalls.

The way I understand the rules (and there are some that understand them much more completely), if you are looking to sell the guns in question you should list them in the "trading post" forum. If you're seeking information, speculation, and some possible good-natured hoorah-ing, post them here. Pics can be included in a post but I'm kinda computer stupid, so I'll wait for another member to lead you down that primrose path.

register on gunbroker and use the search function to see closed auctions for prices realised and listings guns did not sell at. sell there to get top dollar with starting listings 20% less than average selling price and no reserve and the guns will move.

Except gunbroker has a lot of no-bid guns, as well as a lot of overpriced guns. I find it to not be the best indicator of the price range of the guns, as I've purchased all my guns from stores for a lower price than on gunbroker.

Once they're IDed, search around for different sites selling them, perhaps some forums as well where used guns are sold.
