Searches on this and other boards called my attention to an article by Ed Brown that appeared in American Handgunner some years back and apparently spelled out in detail Ed's thoughts on fitting the barrel lug feet and link in a 1911.

Another board member graciously offered to forward a copy of the article to me, but he thinks he misplaced it and does not seem to have located it. (Though, if he's still looking, I am still anxiously waiting).

Anyway, if anyone else is familiar with the article and has a copy they would be willing to send to me or if anyone can lead me to a copy, then I would be greatly indebted.

Any additional information would be helpful, too - month/year of the American Handgunner it appeared in, number of pages, what it says, even.

While we are on the subject, any suggestions on the best resources (books/videos) from what's available on the 1911 that covers in detail fitting the barrel feet/link would be helpful also. The ones that really cover fitting the feet/link in detail. (I've already searched this and other boards and learned valuable information - but still feel there must be more out there).

Thanks.

Don't think that's the one, but thanks, Kruzr.

The article I've read about was apparently actually written by Ed Brown and goes into some detail on fitting the lower lugs of the barrel - so much so that from the posts I've read even professional gunsmiths found it valuable enough to keep and make part of their reference material for working on 1911's.

Anyone, anyone? Beuller, Beuller . . . ?
