help me adjust rear sight on ruger P95

i can't get the darn thing to move. it needs to slide about 1mm to the right, but my gentle persuasion ain't workin. yes, i did remove the set screw. have tapped it pretty hard w/plastic headed mallet, but can't get the courage to whale on that thing. suggestions?

Get a brass punch or wrap a steel one in a t-shirt---will take a good sharp blow----place against a hard surface such a vise---put a towel down to protect the finish.

I use a piece of hard wood and a ball peen hammer. I do it on something secure like a bench with a towel. Have someone hold the gun solid laying on it's side. Put the piece of wood up against the sight and smack it with the hammer. I use a piece of sledgehammer handle. It works and it doesn't mark up the gun.You might also be able to put the head of mallet against the sight then hit the mallet with a hammer. Mark

Take the slide OFF the gun before you do any bangin around.
