I'm finally ready to purchase an AR and have decided to go with CMMG. However, I have some questions about options they offer with their guns. I'm looking at one of their CAR or mid length stainless barreled rifles, but am not sure of the difference between their M10 SS barrel and the M18 SS barrel. Also, what is a gapper or accuwedge? Are they worth the extra $10? Lastly, are the KNS pins or different buffer worth it? Again, my budget is $1500, give or take a few, but with the g27 grip, LMT bolt, MI handguards, tac latch and polished ramps, I'm already pretty close to that $1500 figure. Anyone think I should substitute anything? I'm really looking forward to this, alot of research has been put into this purchase! How's the wait time for CMMG?

Thanks!

I like the CMMG midlengths but don't know the answer to the M10 or M18 question. If you get the winter trigger guard option you won't need the gapper. I wouldn't add the accuwedge unless your rifle really needs it, you can always stick one in later.

I've never needed KNS pins as I've never had any pins walk out on any of my guns. Concerning buffers, I use H buffers on midlengths and H2 buffers on carbine length gas systems. I use full charge ammo. YMMV.

My last order from them was a barrel in January. It took about two weeks to arrive.

if it's your first ar, don't get any of that kns/gapper/buffer crap. spend the money on ammo. cmmg is a good vendor though

I ordered an upper from CMMG on a Sunday. The upper was delivered to Michigan that next Friday. I haven't put enought rounds through it yet to have a verdict on how good the upper is but I am giving it a torture test with Wolf ammo. The fit between the upper and my Stag lower is very tight so you might want to hold off on the accuwedge.
