Well, I am looking for something for a CCW. I am about 5'9" and 190 pounds. I have 2 full size 1911s and an XD45 Compact. I am wanting something in 9mm so my wife can handle it. She is a little intimidated by a .45 ACP, and I want something smaller to conceal. And yes, it is the perfect excuse for me to get a new toy! Anyway, I am looking at a Kahr CW9, an M&P9sc, and an XD9sc. The Glocks are too big for her hand, so the 26 is out. I really like the size of the Kahr. That thing is skinny! However, I like the round capacity of the other 2, although they are a little large. Now, round capacity may not be much of an issue for me, because I shoot quite a bit. My wife, on the other hand, doesn't shoot very much at all, so the extra few rounds may do her good if the SHTF. Let me know what you think and why. Forgot to add, I can get the L&E M&P with night sights, the $50 rebate, and the extra mags by mail.

Ease of concealment, or I would have voted XD 9.

I have an XD SC in .40. I like it a lot. I just ordered a conversion barrel in 9MM from EFK.

Not on your list, but the Sig 239 can be shot easily by my 5' wife. They even offer a 'short-reach' trigger option.
Easily concealed, fast and very accurate
9mm, 357 Sig, .40 (or both with two bbls)

Get a Kahr K9. The extra weight will make the gun much easier to shoot for your wife.

Can't really go wrong with a Glock 26 either, if you don't have anything against Glocks.

M&P, great trigger (on mine at least), changeable back straps, great ergonomics, and it looks good to boot!

Well, I'm not going to vote yet, but my wife just bought the CW-9 today. Haven't taken it to the range yet, but the ergonomics are perfect for her. She had pretty much settled on the M&P9, and then the CW-9 came along and stole her heart. So maybe after we make it to the range I can tell more. Oh, the XD was too big (grip circumference) for my wife's small mitt.

Round count doesn't matter if it's something large and heavy enough, or the grip is uncomfortable enough, that she's going to leave it at home.

It really depends on where you put the emphasis in Concealed Carry Piece--the piece, the concealability, or the fact that you're carrying it to begin with, and neither of the other two do you much good if no one will actually carry it. Talk to her, take her shopping to see what feels the best to her, if that's really a big concern. If not, get what you like the best.

i say go with the xd sc you already know the platform. and they just happen to be one of my favs. i know i love my sc xd.
