I've got about $350-$375 burning a hole in my pocket. Not alot, but I can get something for that amount. I'd like to get another rifle of some kind. I can spend about that much just for the firearm (not including the shipping + FFL) I have a couple of AR's so I am leaning towards something medium bore. I prefer semi-autos, but don't mind other types of actions if the rifle appeals to me. Modern, old...I don't care.

I'm leaning towards either a Saiga 7.62x39/.308 or a rack-grade M1 Garand through the CMP (don't mind the wait). Each can serve as a "project gun" for me to upgrade and tinker with for a while. Saiga gives me the option of conversion to an AK style rifle which I can send out to do later on, or work on myself (I am handy). The M1 is awesome as is, and I really want a piece of our history. I could have the M1 reparked and rebarreled later on, and I can refinish a stock myself. Tough choice.

I would even go for different milsurp if there are any good options out there. If I go bolt action milsurp, I'd definately want to use low magnification optics and would want it to have accuracy in the sub 2.5moa out of the box range. I have a Burris 3-9 sitting around homeless that could sit on top of something. My knowledge of milsurps is limited, I am a newbie in this dept.

This is frustrating. I have this urge to get another rifle, but don't know which direction to go. So I am appealing to THR! Help me guys! :D Any suggestions in that price range are welcome.

I haven't voted as yet but the 7.62x39 would be my suggestion. Of course some bolt milsurps are well worth consideration such as a nice K98 Mauser and some folks find the 7.5 Swiss a good tool as well.

Even a halfways decent SKS might be another thought - maybe a good Norinco.

I cannot in any way see your budget supporting an M1 - unless a shot-out total beater!;)
