Sig P239

Can be had in your choice of 9mm, 40 S&W, or 357 Sig.

I've only put 1000 rounds through mine but I'm a Sig addict now. I can't wait to buy my next one.

I'd say the Beretta. I have two compact types M, and whether it's the standard compact or the M, both are relatively easy to conceal. Got to doing something wrong as a man if you can't and a woman can. Aside from the quality you come to expect in a Beretta, it's ultra reliable and I've never had problems with it. I know people will push the almighty Glock, Sig, and HK, but the Beretta is reasonablely priced, very accurate and get's the job done just as well as the more hyped guns.:D

well, I thank you all for the feedback! after a bit of research, I've pretty much decided on a Kahr PM9. yeah, I know it's not a .45, like I was looking for, but out of a short barrel like I'm looking at, I think that a more controllable round would be better. shot placement vs. caliber and all that jazz. plus, I've got tons of 9mm sitting around already. the Kahr fits my hand a bit better than the Glock, and the difference in weight is negligible, to me, at least. I can fit it in my front pocket in a pocket holster, so summer shouldn't be a problem. the range I go to has most of the guns I was looking at available for rental, and I'm pretty darn accurate with the Kahr, as well. of course no one in town has the 92 compact L type M, so I can't look at it. so, as soon as my tax refund comes, I'll be getting the Kahr.

again, thanks for all the feedback.

Erik.

I'm sure you're making the right choice in a gun. If you come into a little cash somewhere down the line, you should really consider picking up the Beretta compact. You won't be disappointed, but as I've said before you have to go with your specific needs for the moment and that will differ for everyone. Best wishes.:D

Oh trust me, I'll end up getting one. I'm slowly turning into a collector!:what: besides, the compact would probably be fine for winter, but I'm looking for something to carry *all* the time first.
