I need to replace the pair of Pachmayr "Bill Jordan" grips as seen on the S&W14 below. They've got a pretty good crack going at the back running towards the screw holes. I really like the shape and profile of these and would like to replace them with something similar in an exotic wood or laminate. The problem is all the grips I find using Google have stinkin fingergrooves which I can't stand on a revolver. So please make suggestions for manufacturers or models, I'm open to advice.

The current S&W JM grips (Jerry Miculek) grips have a very, very similar shape. They come on the 625JM model. I'd check their website and see if they have a K/L frame model. Herrett's has a Jordan style grip, too.

Also, look at "Roper" style grips - Herrett's makes a style of those and so do others.

Lastly, you might like a S&W "plain target" style. Slightly fuller, but also a nice smooth finish for maximum contact and no bite from the checkering. They are my favorite on a K-frame with a square butt. This is what they look like.

Oro is correct, the Jerry Miculek grips are what it looks like you're looking for.

You can get 'em here http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/revptmicgrip.htm

Or here http://www.alscustom.com/shop/index.php?cat=100&shop=1 (these guys also have them in laminated, which I think would look sweet on that model14 you posted)

You can also order them from S&W directly but I believe they're a bit more expensive.

Steve Herrett was one stockmaker that made Bill Jorden's personal grips. His sons now run the business, and they can duplicate the real thing, carved to match a customer's individual hand. Both the pattern and size are important, and of course you can have just about any kind of wood you want.

Incidentally, true Jordan stocks are not the same as those that were designed by Jerry Miculek. There are some small but important differences.

Jordan by the way, would not use finger grooved stocks, and he had a good reason for not doing so.
