Help me find a value 9mm 1911

The STI is another solid option. We took a 9mm STI (a VIP) to Gunsite and it performed remarkably well. I wasn't that pleased with the checkering on it, but that's nitpicking. (The

STI makes outstanding pistols, and some of their parts are made by Rock Island (tight quality control means this isn't a knock on STI for setting their logistics up this way at all.) For a production carry pistol I think STI is probably at the top of the heap.

They aren't necessarily cheap, but the value is solid.

COLT ** COMBAT COMMANDER ** 9mm Ad placed on 3/4/2014
Here is a Colt Combat Commander in a 9mm caliber. It has a satin finish and is in lightly used condition. It comes with owner's manual and the original box. The barrel is 4 1/4" in length. The price is $850.00 cash. I will remove the ad when it sells. Call 208-899-1232.

x2 on the Browning Hi power. It is a refined 1911.

Disagree, the HiPower trigger is much inferior to the 1911 trigger. The HiPower was JMB & DS working for FN to get around the 1911 patents held by Colt.

I also have an STI Spartan IV 9mm and it is a terrific piece. I strongly recommend the Wilson Elite Tactical Magazines with any full size or 4.25" length 9mm 1911.

I've owned all three still have the Trojan ...the Ria is the best value but not very smooth or polished but for less then 5 hundred that's to be expected the Springfeild was a nice pistol and had a better fit and finish then the Ria bit really didn't shoot any better last but not least my STI Trojan blows both of them away ! In fact its probably the closest thing you will find to custom fit 1911 for less then 2k I would never sell it! The Spartan is another good choice ,but only the Spartan uses Rock island parts and the rest of the STI line is all made in Texas .

I recently ordered a Tisas 1911 in 9mm. Shoots great, looks great, has great balance, and not one hiccup out of 500 rounds so far, including some el cheapo rounds thru it. Very accurate gun, even with my shaky hands.

$350.00 from Buds, with a $25 transfer fee.

That's a value in my book.

My STI Spartan is as accurate in my hands as my 1911s costing three times as much money. Fit very tight but the finish is "spartan." If you want to go up in price, then the STI Trojan would be a good choice. I also would not hesitate in buying the Springfield Range Officer.
