I will be able to post some pics later but here are some distinguishing characteristics:
3 band, full length barrel w/ cleaning rod
long bayo lug on the right side of the barrel
rear sight is elevator type graduated up to '11' (assuming 1100 yds or meters)
barrel is blued. bands are blued too. only marking on the bands or barrel is the little 'u' that indicates the position of the band for reinstallation.
the barrel just forward of the action has the octagonal 'knox form' but - there is no marking for the Argentine military.
I keep reading that the Argentine was the only one with the octagonal section and maybe some of them had been rebarrled without the Argentine marks?
receiver is case hardened.
No marks on stock or reciever.
rear sling swivel has very faint markings of a patent year maybe 1898? very tiny.
Only other markings are some very worn patent marks, 3 lines, on the top tang.
the muzzle measures either 11mm or .43 with a simple bore gage (not miced).
One HEAVY trigger pull I might add.
Nice looking gun, thinking of buying from a friend.
