I have these exact bullets from the same manufacture that Buffalo bore gets them from. New Starline brass, Winchester LPP for Standard of Magnum loads, and H-110 or IMR 4227 or BlueDot.

Here is a link to the ammo i would like to get close to:

Also looking for anyone that has worked up a Ruger only load with HORNADY'S 240 Grain XTP Mag bullet With the 3 powders listed above.

Will be used for a hog hunt, so that 1890 FPS out of his 20" lever gun looks awesome. I have a 94 with a 20" barrel as well so i see no reason to not get to at least 1850 FPS.

I have experience in Ruger loads and have some old one in a box with 250 grain cast bullets and IMR 4227, but they crony at 1775 FPS and i know there going to lead up in the rifle so i decided to try the 2 bullets listed above instead. But cannot find data on those bullets in particular.

BigBore45, Why don't you check with Missouri Bullet Company? They make a coated bullet that is 18 BHN. They recommend them for full house 357 and 44 mag loads. They are not supposed to lead the barrel. They have a 255 grain Keith style bullet. They sell for $54.00 for 400. That does not include shipping. That's for 45 Long Colt. hope this helps. Joe

i have tried MBC they are good bullets. I worded that a little goofy in the opening post.

i meant they will lead in the rifle from the extra velocity produced in the lever gun, as they were loaded for a 5.5" blackhawk from years past. they are lubed with lube designed for 1300 FPS not 1700+. I would rather run the 2 i mentioned since i have them now and they are either copper or gas checked/lubed for the 1800FPS range.

I worked up a load with the 240 gr. XTP MAG last night in .1 grain increments and shot them today. until it measured and looked and felt like enough compared to Buffalo Bore rounds i have. I will not say the load on here but you can private message me for it. Pics at bottom are of final load fired and loaded. slight bulge on ejector side of brass near the bottom and semi flat primer. ( the buffalo bore ammo shows way more bulge and FLAT/cratered primers)

Crony 10' from muzzle 5 string test shots:

Winchester 94' w/20" barrel:

................Average velocity: 2042 FPS
............................ Spread: 29 FPS

Ruger Blackhawk 5.5" barrel:
...............Average velocity: 1537FPS
............................Spread:34FPS

Still waiting for info from other guys on here on the keith style bullet, cannot believe no one has info with these powders for it.
