I'm also left handed. I'm also amazed at how many here can blithely ignore your request to be presented with the LHB options available. I also am exactly where you are, searching for a .223 LHB gun.
Here's what I found. Charles Daly, which is actually a Zastava Mauser. This is the mini-Mauser action which was imported by Interarms several years ago.
Savage, with acu-trigger.
Within your stated price parameters, these are the only two I found. Remington lists the mdl 700 VS in left, but at an MSRP of over $870.00. Winchester would be a custom shop option & therefore very much more than where you want to be on price.
If you want to take the time, there are used LHB's available. I'd search both the GunsAmerica and Gunbroker websites. However, finding what you want at the price you wish to pay may take some time.
The Daly online catalogue currently shows the Superior Grade as the only model available at $629.00 MSRP. I'm sure that the actual retail price will be lower. My dealer says that the Field Grade is due to show up soon & I have one of these on order with them.
The CZ's are supposedly very good guns. I wouldn't know, they don't make guns for me & I don't make my money available to them because of it. I've come to the conclusion that if we reward the firearms makers for not providing us with what we want by buying a right hand gun, we'll never get what we want. And with the common use of CNC machining, there's no real reason for them to fail to provide more LHB product.
I've shot a lot over the years, quite a bit of it with RHB's. I'm old & crotchety enough now to insist that I get what I want, the way I want it, or I keep my money. Now that I do have a battery of LHB's, I much prefer it that way, thank you very much.
For those that think I'm just being difficult about refusing the right hand action guns, talk to me after you've gone on your trophy elk hunt & used a gun that doesn't fit you. If you'd just as soon pass on the experience, stop trying to force it on us lefty's.
