what is ment when measureing the bbl of a m1 carbine by the numbers 1,0.....2.0 or something lile that.what is being used when measureing the bore.What are good and bad numbers?

The number is the wear at the muzzle in thousandths of an inch over .300. Usually measured with a muzzle wear gauge inserted in the muzzle. Google "muzzle wear gauge" for more info.
As a guide, 0 would be the ideal number for a brand new barrel. By the time the barrel reads three it has considerable wear.
