I am trying to think of the various reasons someone would want another person disarmed.

1. They have designs on your life, liberty or happiness.

2. They do not care what happens to you.

3. They are afraid of you.

Are there anymore?

They imagine the power they would have in their own hands and know that they do not have morals or principles and that they would shoot the first person they got into an argument with, and so they are very afraid.

And they are jealous that you have that power and are willing to exercise your rights and that you have morals and principles and are a responsible person.

They truly believe they are smarter than you and you are an ignorant doofus hick who has no business with deadly force. Examples of this mental disorder can be found in the heads of Clinton, Kennedy, Schumer, Feinstein and others too numerous to mention. Their world view is one of "benevolent dominance" wherein the purpose of government is to equalize everything and everybody. As an added bonus, everyone will be so grateful they will worship and adore them forever more.

The general likelihood that they'll hurt you by accident. I don't give my one and a half year old loaded guns to play with for this reason. I don't think I'd want a psychotic delusional roommate to have one either. To want a person to be disarmed, this likelihood would have to be pretty dang high.

Of course, this is exactly the same reasoning that make people want assault weapons/cheap guns/expensive guns/ banned, and I certainly don't want that, but there you go, my reasoning is the same.

By the way, in my example, I'm going in a case-by-case basis only. I assume you were asking about a specific person you'd want disarmed, and not a group of people you'd want disarmed.

Ducktape...

I put number two in to account for shop owners who are afraid of guns but may not wish for any control over me outside their premises.

Jamz, I'm trying to come up with why others want to see me disarmed.

Your powerlessness makes it easier for others to control you. And if you are willing to give up what makes you free in the first place, even better.
