Help Scout setup for 1894C

After a gunsmith completely screwed up my front sight on my 1894c, I have decided to make a scout setup. I am looking at a 20mm pistol scope (probably 2x) and putting the XS sight systems dovetail /scope mount weaver rail on it. What would be a good scope and rings combo? Anyone done something like this that can give me some pointers?
