I have a new, in the box Tanfoglio Giuseppe, Targa Gt, .380, that shoots fine, but when empty the slide hangs up on the magazine. The pressure is such that the magazine can not be dropped at this point. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, what did you do to correct it? Thanks for any help.

Mr. Tex

Where in god's country to you live---i am near the town of sealy??

Question #1 : Does the slide lock back after the last round has been fired ??? If it does, that is normal.

Question #2: Do the empty magazines drop free when you press the eject button ??? If they do not, then you have an internal magazine retention pin that requires the magazines must be removed by grasping with your hand then pull from the frame. The retention pin would have to be removed to get magazine free-fall.

If this info does not help, contact me again.

Thanks for your reply. I'm in NE TX. The slide locks back after last shot, but locks against the follower in the magazine putting so much pressure on the mag that it can't be removed. The mag looks perfect, and looks correct according to some pictures of the correct mag I have found on line.

When the slide is not locked against it, the mag can be removed by pushing the release and pulling on the mag. Three hands would help.

Gentlemen

If you fellows needed to make a quick mag change in a fire-fight with your pistols are currently behaving, you both would be hosed !!! Since both are experiencing the same problem, i would suggest attempting to contact the manufacturer & explain the problem. Maybe they can shed some light on this issue. I am really good at hot-rodding 1911 pistols, but this is one model i know nothing about.

There will be no fire fights with a Tanfoglio while I still have Glocks, Colts, and Rugers round about. :D
