Help with born on date

I need help finding the born on date of a revolver I just aquired. S&W revolver , model 67-1 , stainless steel , Serial# 88K6XXX. Any help from anyone will really be appreciated and I will return the favor if I ever can.
 
Looks to be 1980 based on the standard catalogue. Obviously that can vary significantly, and you would need to request a letter from S&W to know for sure.

Love those Model 67s. Pretty sure you have to post a picture now...
