Hello and help,

I can't find my manual so : Can I load 4.7 grains of Bullseye in 125 grain jacketed .38 special? Can I go higher or should I go Lower? Thanks in advance.

It depends on the gun you're going to use them in. Speer #13 lists 4.5 gr of Bullseye as max for a 125 jacketed bullet. If you are shooting the rounds in a gun capable of handling +P pressures, the 4.8 gr is the max.

As always, you should work up to the max when reloading for any caliber, not go for the gold at the first outing. A 125 gr jacketed bullet from one manufacturer is not necessarily equal to all other 125 gr jacketed bullets. As a side note, Speer recommends not reducing the loads from the maximums listed. But, I think a 3 to 5% reduction would not be out of order for the first go around. (Lyman suggests a min/max of 3.2 to 4.4 gr., and a max of 5.0 for +P.)

Now, go find your manual or buy another one (or two). :)

Many thanks. It is a load for a Python and a little smith 36. I think it will be ok in the Colt . I will start 3.6 in the Smith.

My most acurate load using bullseye in a Colt "6 .38 is 125 grn bullet with 3.1 gns of bulleye. This is a officers model 2nd edition target. Not a max load but a point of aim load...

Enjoy...
