Help with detail stripping sw6906

Just as the subject thread says. I havent detail stripped and cleaned this baby...ever!

Since it is my carry piece i want to make absolutely sure it will function flawlessly on every round.

Plus, clean guns are more accurate! (Or so I hear. i need all the help i can get in that area! LOL!!!)

You mean disassembly for basic cleaning, or an armorer-level field strip?


Basic cleaning... triple check chamber is empty, hammer down. Slightly retract slide till the cutout aligns, push out slide release from the right, move slide forward off the rails, drop out spring and barrel.

I have used the AGI video to totally take mine apart, and it went fine. You should be careful getting the "grips" on and off, and there are some small springs and such that are fun to lose... but overall it wasn't bad. I wanted to give it an especially thorough cleaning beyond the normal routine and replace all the springs. I've done it more than once, but not too many times, in the ~14 years I've had the gun.
