first off, I have a marlin model 39A .22 rifle. I don't think I've ever seen one like it but ppl say that its quiet common. I know its a fairly old rifle though. The serial # is AB 42xx. anyone have an idea of a dob for this rifle.

second, I have a marlin model 336, 35 caliber rifle. It is the only rifle I have every used for deer hunting and have always had success with it but my questions are, how rare is this rifle and how does it rate as compared to other popular deer rifles?

Some people might say the 336 chambered in 35 is outdated. But its the perfect cartridge in the perfect rifle as far as killing deer and black bear is concerned. Its not a beanfield rifle, but where I hunt, the deer leave the fields as soon as the season starts. I would feel fine shooting mine out to 150 yards. The deer that I've shot with my 35 dropped right there.
