Hello,
I am looking for some advice, what were the model # of some of the nice old 7/8" tube scopes? I was thinking about a post/ hair scope like an old Weaver. This would go on a centerfire rifle so no rimfire scopes. Any guidance appreciated.

You mean like the Weaver 330 used on the 1903A4?
Or the Lyman Alaskan? (Leupold made a very nice copy of the Alaskan for a while. Better coatings and centered reticle.)

1971 Gun Digest shows the Redfield Sportster. Old Redfield ad shows it on both rimfire and centerfire.

The Lyman and leupold Alaskans were fairly well thought of from what I've read. I've only personally used a Lyman and what I THINK was a Weaver?
