I just picked up my first .22 revolver--a somewhat well-used S&W K-22--and I am eagerly waiting out my 10-day cool-down period. Anyway, I was hoping that somebody could help me with the date of manufacture. The serial number is K289xxx. Thanks.

How'd you find it? I hope it wasn't sitting in a local shop I'll kick myself for not finding it first . :)

Thanks for the help with the date.

It was sitting in the case at Imbert and Smithers. It is a little beat-up, and I probably paid way too much ($375), but I've been looking all over for a K-22 or an M17, and this was the only one I saw anywhere.

I was wondering, is it still possible to buy parts for this gun? What parts are or aren't compatable with the M17?

Thanks.
