hi fellow shooters!

I pulled out my Remington 1100 after a hot summer of not shooting (it was stored indoors, no worries!) shotguns, and went out to the sporting clays range today. My gun wouldn't cycle! I have not had any issues with this gun in the past. I was shooting typical #8 game loads. Shot both Remington and Estate loads, both experienced problems.

Usually the gun would fail to lift the next shell into the chamber. There were also failures to extract (pulled back the bolt to find an empty still in the chamber) and a few stovepipes as well.

Any ideas as to what I should look for to fix my gun? I've got a set of gas rings that I was thinking about changing out. I'm just surprised because I haven't had any problems with this gun until today. Yes, it was lubed.

Thoughts?

just cleaned the action and mechanism and lubed it again and replaced the gas ring. The ring looked ok, so but I have no idea when it was last changed, so I went ahead and did that. I'll try to get it out later this week and see if its working now.

Were these loads it has reliably cycled before? Mine has had problems with 1oz loads of different brands before (assuming it's a 12ga) Estate being one of those brands.

I could swear a few months ago it ate these shells (Remington and Estate) without a hiccup. I found some Rio in my bag, so that's what I was shooting last.
