Help with Savage Model 99c .308cal

I recently purchased a Savage Model 99c in .308WCF calibre. I am having a difficult time finding a website to be able to tell the year this rifle was manufactured. On the left side of the receiver is number A057272 and on the bottom of the receiver is the number 1181275.
Could someone help me identify the year this rifle was produced or guide me to a website to find this information?

I could be wrong, but I believe Savage started using letter serial # prefix's in 1969.

An A would then be 1969.
A B would be 1970, and so on.

To be absolutely sure?
I'm thinking a call to Savage Customer Service would get the straight skinny.
