Help with side mount rings

Hi. Thanks in advance for the help. I have a Springfield 83 with an old side mount scope. I need to upgrade the scope and purchased one with 1” tubes. It came with top mount rings. I also purchased Weaver Mounts Side Mount, Weav 48402 2 1pc Side Mnt Base. I cannot find the correct rings to make it work. I called Weaver but they were not available.


Attached are pictures of the way it is now and the new scope and mount.

Is this the Weaver vs. Picatinny issue? Weaver rings will fit on a Picatinney rail but Picatinny rings will not fit on a Weaver rail. Most likely what you need are Weaver style rings.

The issue is it’s a side mount. Not a top mount. Hopefully I explained it.
Leaning towards attached but not sure if high mount will work or the spacing. Sorry if I have analysis paralysis

Sorry, in the pictures it looked like you had a side mount base with a rail on top.
