Help with SKS rear sight

Maybe it is because I am getting older and the eyes need a little more, but I am having a difficult time seeing the rear sight notch on my SKS. Having upgraded to a T-6 Stock , the notch seems to "get lost" with the hand gaurd as I sight. I have though about putting some "white-out" on the rear sight to maybe give it a bit more definition. Does anyone have the same problem.....and a possible resolution other that getting a set of young eyes?

On my SKS I couldn't use the rear sight at all, and that is with young eyes! I replaced it with a peep sight, really made a difference.
