i have decided to purchase a pair of snubbies for the wife and myself. i have been packing my 9mm. but i find that i am having a hard time concealing it. to the point that i often leave it in the car rather than carry it into places.

Ok what i want is ideally a smith 60 and a 60ls in 357 if i can get the LS in 357. but i was wondering about the quaility of charter arms in 38, stainless.

also, anybody know of a low price leader on the web where i can order these revolvers?

thanks all!

Don't know about the Charter Arms. For the Smiths I would try Sporting Arms. If they have a price you like call to verify stock because their webpage is not always up to date.

Charter 2000 Undercover:1st cylinder full 2 bangs 3 clicks.

Charter 2000 Offduty:same as above.

Charter 2000 bulldog:functioned 100% through 500 rounds.

My buddy's Charter 2000 Bulldog:functioned 100% through 250 rounds.

I bought both .38's nib from a dealer (same with the Bulldog). Both guns were fixed under warranty. Both guns have since gone through 500 rounds each and functioned 100%. I know of a couple other Charter 2000's that had a problem right out of the box. One locked up after the second shot. The 'smith said it was a "burr" in the action. The other would go a few rounds and then misfire. Both guns now function fine.

Quality control seems a little lacking.

I'm not real concerned about it. All my Charters are range toys (i collect snubbies). If i was going to carry a snubby it would be one of my S&W's, my SP101 or one of my Taurus snubbies.

You might also check out Rossi. i have a 641 (blued 2 1/2",6 shot,26 oz .357). The trigger pull is a little heavy but it ate 500 rounds of mostly .38 +p's and .357's without skipping a beat. i know of a few others and they've all been very reliable guns. Rossi is now owned by Taurus. The 461 list for $298 on their web site but you could probally find one cheaper.

How about a pair of S&W 642's?
