He has a bolt action 1:9” Savage Axis.

With a 1-9 twist rate,I get the best results with the 69 grain tipped Match king over Varget and set them off with BR-2 primers.I am below max with the powder charge,but still get close to 3100 with a 26" barrel.The rifle is a well built 700,and I wanted it to consistently put 5 rounds into less than half an inch at 100 yards.It will do that with boring consistency,with some of the better groups going into less than .3.
