Help with some good optics - Bino's

And that depends on the eyes, but I can tell you one thing, even though I can’t see with or without a scope as well as I used to, good glass is more important than ever for me.

Absolutely. My only point was that our vision changes over the years and that need evolves to some extent as well. Better to try a few brands to find what fits best. Everyone is different. Some swear by Tascos. Others a loyal to NF. It’s good that we have choices.

I don’t disagree with you, but optics aren’t glasses.

No, optics aren’t glasses, but poor optics will distort light before it reaches your eyes even more - so your point is absolutely non-sequitur. Looking with blurry eyes at a blurry image isn’t as clear as looking with blurry eyes at a sharp image - seems like that would be common sense. Suggesting otherwise isn’t doing a service to the OP and his question at hand.

As a competitive shooter and a professional photographer, I look through “optics” without my glasses very regularly. Indeed, I replace my glasses or contacts with my optics. Yes, optic quality matters significantly - in many cases, my “optics” are better “glasses” than my glasses. As my eyes are declining, glass quality in my “optics” becomes more and more critical - otherwise I have blurry eyes looking at blurry images, which as I mentioned above, is worse…

Do you have an astigmatism?
A scope will not correct for astigmatism. As a competitive shooter I’m sure you know this. Astigmatism is corrected by the curvature of ones eye glass lens. A scope lens is not curved to correct for the many astigmatism variations. That was more or less the point I was trying to make. But you’re right, I didn’t offer advice to help the OP, I likely just obscured the topic at hand.

Yes, and have been nearsighted since elementary school, with early onset presbyopia shredding my vision more and more since my early 30’s…

But since you’ve been arguing the false point for several posts and not mentioned astigmatism until now, it sure seems like you’re just trying to rationalize your moving the goalpost instead of just accepting that the crap you’re trying to pass off is exactly that…
