Henry Big Boy

I am going to buy a Henry Big Boy.
There are two options - 44Mag/Special and 45

I mostly use it for target shooting and small varmits and hogs

Any comments would be appreciated

I'd go the 44. Hogs can be tough critters. Plus the round has good flexibility if you reload.

I'll reinforce that opinion!

The .45LC is a fine round however the "hotter reloads" people talk about are really only intended for Thompson Center and Ruger pistols.

Plus there's hardly a gun store in the country that won't have at least one load in .44 mag available. Not always so for the venerable .45LC.

Thanks for the replys looks like it will be a trip to Bass Pro tomorrow for the 44 Mag.

I want to thank those who talked me into the 44 mag.

I finally got the gun to the range today...WOW, smooth, accurate and FUN!

I am very impressed with the gun, just wish the user was as good as the gun.
