I've got about 7lbs of Hercules 2400 that I would like to use up this Summer in some type of rifle load if possible. I know it works okay in magnum pistol rounds but was hoping to find a good rifle load if possible. I have a Ruger Red Hawk in 44 Magnum but it would take me 10 years to shoot this much powder in this gun. I alos have a Ruger 44 Magnum carbine that I'm pretty sure will work with this powder but again this isn't one of my favorite range guns. I recently read some posts on other sites where folks claim they use this powder in other rifle calibers (45-70 and .223). Has anyone ever tried this powder for loading .243 or .308? Do you think it would work in a Winchester 243 WSSM? Any suggestions for use (besides fertilizer)? Thanks!

Thank you! I may give this one a try once I hear back from Alliant.

Lead Bullets...

If you're considering lead bullet loads, the horizon just broadened for you... Check the manuals - it's my standard cast boolit powder in 30-06, 30-40 & 308; 303 & 8mm as well. As you mentioned, it's great for 44 mag, and also for 44-40. Before you put in on the tomatoes, PM me & we'll work out a swap for some Miracle-Gro... ;)
