I love it !!!! I need one of those on my porch... right next to my TWO "NO Solicitors" signs. :D

I didn't take a good pic on that second one , but that is suppose to show that it has a rifled barrel.

A bit more light would've shown it better... but, it shows the presence of rifling on my monitor. I'll bet that's one heavy ol' girl !!

I was asked to help they shop owner move it from being under everyone's feet, and I don't think we lifted it off the ground enough to get a credit card under it. Oh, and the guy thinks it might be confederate. Any way of telling?

Cool Cannon..!

It is Rifled??? Wow...looks like it might be...

The Carriage looks a little hasty and unrefined though...

That's it's carriage?? I thought it was part of it's shipping crate!
I know the Union used the Parott Rifle and Ordnance cannon...rifled...Confederates used something similar to those. The Union used a 3-inch and I think the South used one just slightly smaller in bore size but don't quote me on this.
I have a King's howitzer (1812?), never fired, doesn't even have the fuse hole bored in it yet...someday I will build a carriage for it. It's a 2.25" bore...about 20 inches long and weighs about 100 pounds...not very big but at least I can say I own a 55mm howitzer! ::grinning::
